• Training & Development

We empower our employees to continuously develop their skills through personalized, engaging, and accessible learning experiences, ensuring they thrive in a rapidly changing industry.

Our Learning Culture

Developing Our Talent: Developing our talent has long been a key ingredient of our people strategy. Our aim is to create an engaging, inclusive, and relevant set of learning activities to help our employees succeed in their roles.

Continuous Learning: Our industry is continuously changing, and keeping up to date is critical. It is important for our clients’ success that our employees are able to continuously develop. We create an engaging, personalized, and varied learner experience accessible to all employees, at every stage of their career.

A Personalized Approach to Skills Development

At Deutsche Bank, we want to create a working environment that empowers our employees to learn every day. There are multiple ways to achieve this.

LearningHub is the bank’s home for learning, using smart technology to suggest personalized content for each user. Here, employees can map their learning to the skills they want to develop. They can recommend or share learning resources with others, join groups, collaborate, and leverage experts. We are proud to have won a Silver Award from the Learning and Performance Institute (LPI), recognizing our progress in becoming a stronger learning organization. We ensure all learning is inclusive by creating online learning to the required accessibility standards and testing it with various groups to ensure all employees can access it.

Career Mobility

We pride ourselves on the career growth opportunities we can provide our talent. We encourage employees to take advantage of our extensive network to guide their own career plans and choices, and we are committed to supporting role changes both within and across divisions.

Leveraging internal talent and providing them with access to new opportunities ensures their continued development and enables us to retain institutional knowledge and expertise within Deutsche Bank. In a business world where we are all facing challenges and changes, internal mobility accelerates professional development and fosters our ‘one-bank’ approach. That might be in a different division, in a management position, or even in a new location. Our global reach and network equip our employees with plenty of opportunities to truly guide their own career paths and choices, making Deutsche Bank a place of growth and development of skills.

Take the opportunity to meet our colleagues who have decided to take on new challenges within our organization.

Skills for Business

At Deutsche Bank, our divisions and businesses are unique, serving their clients differently.

Diverse Skill Sets: We value a variety of skills, such as finance experts, engineers, lawyers, people consultants, project managers, agile coaches, security professionals, academics, and many more. This variety of needs means employees must build and maintain different skills. With technology and markets moving quickly, it is key to keep pace with learning content.

“Our people are the first line in protecting the bank and its reputation. They play a vital part in preserving the trust our stakeholders put in us and a key role in the global fight against financial crime. To ensure they have everything they need to preserve a strong risk culture and keep our bank safe, we continue to invest in our talent, in their education and capabilities.”
Stefan Simon, Member of the Management Board of Deutsche Bank

Intelligent Learning Platform

With our intelligent learning platform, we have democratized the creation and curation of learning, allowing our talent to customize learning paths for their needs. A team of learning experts supports our different functions, bringing technical expertise, learning best practices, and depth of resources together. This is critical as developing the skills of our people is key to the success of our Global Hausbank concept.

Partnering for Success

Partnering with our Technology, Data, and Innovation division has made rich content from world-class tech companies available, allowing our employees to easily access the latest research, expertise, and thinking. There are multiple learning events across the bank to stay up to date with technology such as data and AI. Deutsche Bank also supports employees, both full and part time, to gain further qualifications, degrees and certifications.  This can include a wide variety of topics which vary by region and division – for example, our auditors completing their certifications (CPA, CIA, EFFAS and CFE) or our experts in technology,  receiving their Cloud accreditations and their CPD accredited learning.

“As technologists, we experience the fast pace of change every day. To stay ahead, we have to keep learning, continuously build our skills, and discuss the latest thinking with our colleagues. This collaboration with HR also shows how much technology continues to play a critical role in the bank’s transformation.”
