Erin works at the interface of business and technology

The intersect of data and technology is possibly one of the most important and influential areas in business right now. This is exactly why we need people like Erin.

Deutsche Bank has at its disposal a huge pool of data capable of creating tremendous value for the future. In our Data Visualisation team, we structure data and create dashboards and widgets to ensure that key stakeholders can access the insights they need to make critical business decisions. Erin’s technical understanding, her communication skills and ability to think outside of the box, makes her ideally placed to deliver value to the business. She recently moved from London to Frankfurt offer to set up a local development team – just one example of the type of opportunities that are constantly becoming available in this growing sector.

The focus of her current role is to optimise and enhance the bank’s Know-Your-Customer (KYC) processes. Erin’s job is – ensuring that the client-facing teams have constant access to all the information they need in order to provide expert advice and support at the same time as complying with regulatory requirements. “I’m constantly in touch with our colleagues in sales. Although I don’t have any direct contact with clients personally.” At the moment Erin is single handedly managing this project although her objective is to build a strong team around her.

Erin especially appreciates the complexity and scope at Deutsche Bank. ”The bank is hugely diverse and on a massive scale and preparing data and information is key to the success of the business. While the work involves plenty of detail, it also requires you to consider the bigger picture of processes and their interconnections.” Erin also enjoys being able to work with so many other teams across the Corporate Bank and Investment Bank, which means she is always learning something new.

“There is a lot going on here right now. Digitisation is opening up so many opportunities, and the bank is working hard to make innovative ideas a reality.” As a result there are plenty of opportunities to develop new skills and to grow professionally. “Personally, I’m really enjoying being here in Frankfurt right now and I enjoy my job as it allows me to make a real difference.”
