Rinah strives for continuous improvement

Curiosity, continuous learning, and the ability to work effectively through ambiguity are essential traits of a strong project leader.

For Rinah, a Business Analyst within Group Finance Solutions Group (GFSG) in the Philippines, successfully implementing challenging projects is her top priority. In fact, learning new processes, engaging with different stakeholders, businesses and other groups and the opportunity to showcase ideas are what keep her going.

She explains: “I’ve always been involved in process improvements to create efficiencies and support change initiatives on top of my production tasks. I find it a great opportunity to learn more about the bank and our other more complex products.”

Transformation journey

Right now, Rinah is a member of GFSG’s Daily Close Core team that is responsible for the global end-to-end implementation of ledger migration to S4HANA. As a Business Analyst she provides technical expertise to define global business requirements and provides inputs to architectural solutions. She is also involved in project execution including User Acceptance Testing (UAT) deliveries and Data Take-on. Finally, she conducts user training, handles operational readiness and Parallel Run, Go-Live and Post Implementation support to Finance users for every entity roll-out.

Continuous improvement is just as important to Rinah on a personal level and this has proven to be a perfect move to take her career to a new level.

She was initially tasked to manage the Data Take-on (DTO) requirements of the revenue feeds for a global location because of her strong background on revenue accounting and financial reporting. Her role later evolved to being the overall lead for the pilot migration and she eventually managed the Parallel Run, Go-Live and Post Implementation support.
A pilot migration on this scale has not been without challenges. “I’m grateful that I have supportive and very hardworking teammates and manager which meant that we were able to meet our original Go-Live timelines despite being in the midst of the global pandemic and working remotely from our own homes during the cutover to the production environment. It is with this experience and support along with personal commitment and hard work that I got promoted.”

A strategic role with global impact

Rinah’s role bridges the gap between business, technology and project teams to ensure optimum delivery.

She explains, “We take every entity rollout as an opportunity to upgrade our skillsets and perform our roles more effectively - handling more complex tasks or lead roles that allow us to contribute more.”
