The perfect blend

What does a typical bank employee do? Many would think of a bank clerk, serving customers behind a counter and helping them with everyday banking services. Or perhaps you think of an investment banker giving advice to corporations and institutions and providing finance. You probably wouldn’t think of event management. One of the many unusual and diverse jobs we have available here at Deutsche Bank.

When he started his apprenticeship in the financial sector, Alexander didn’t dream of building a career in events. But now, at the Quartier Zukunft, Deutsche Bank’s branch of the future in Berlin, he can combine his passion for finance with his talent for hosting great events.

“It’s quite different to what you might expect”, says Alexander. At the Quartier Zukunft, banking of the future is being delivered here and now - in an inspiring and quite unusual atmosphere. “Exchanging innovative ideas with our clients and the public on a regular basis is what we focus on“,

Talks and workshops, networking parties, art and cultural events – all for part of the day-to-day life within this unique branch concept. A recent event focussed on innovation and diversity, especially for women in leading positions. Quartier Zukunft wants to shape the industry of the future.

Alexander is constantly on his toes, working on the latest event concept, trying out new and innovative set-ups and thinking of how best to engage our customers. At Quartier Zukunft he can work as financial consultant AND event manager at the same time.

The best thing about the job? “it’s the perfect blend“, he answers without hesitation. One moment he enjoys advising and consulting with customers. The next moment he’s organising a major event, maybe even one that attracts press attention. It’s a unique proposition that works really well in Germany’s modern capital.

Alexander is convinced: “Quartier Zukunft makes new things possible – including careers.”
