Lisa is an ambassador for great connections
At only 28 years of age, Lisa has been with Deutsche Bank for 12 years now. She started as an apprentice within the Private Bank and studied business administration and psychology while working. After initially working in Human Resources, her path led her to business management at our Investment Bank.
Based on conversations with her friends, Lisa heard that it's not common to be able to make career moves like that: “It's great to see how you can develop yourself within the bank. Friends of mine have to change companies and industries to find such a diverse range of jobs. At Deutsche Bank, we have a full range of different job opportunities within reach.”
People focus is more important than ever
As different as Lisa's roles have been so far, they all have one thing in common: a focus on people – clients and colleagues. “It's important to me that I can fully apply myself to my job and make a positive impact on the bank and my colleagues.”
In the Investment Bank, Lisa's responsibilities vary depending on the bank's activities. Currently, she looks after mentoring opportunities for employees. That’s people-focus in action, because it's about connecting people, discovering common professional ground and inspiring each other. For Lisa, this is where matching mentoring couples becomes a perfect match for the bank and its employees.
Lisa is also the Programme Manager for the Graduate Programme in Fixed Income & Currencies in the Investment Bank. This includes the strategic support for Germany as well as the coordination of rotations and the programme process. Her aim is to ensure her new colleagues have a smooth and good start in the Investment Bank. She acts as a sparring partner for Graduates, helping them find a suitable role within the Investment Bank at the end of the programme.
Being One Bank
“We can only be successful as a bank if we support each other,” says Lisa. The One Bank philosophy is one of the main drivers shaping her work. The idea is simple: If everyone starts acting in the best interest of the entire bank, it will make Deutsche Bank a better place. This is why diversity and inclusion are so important: “Just one more person joining a discussion can offer a new perspective and open up new insights.”
Lisa has made it her mission to build bridges between departments and colleagues. For her, it's about creating a feeling of togetherness. Deutsche Bank needs many minds with different ideas to work together on the challenges of the future. And these ideas need to be openly shared and discussed.
Diversity creates future
“I'm in the right place,” says Lisa. “I can work strategically and focus on people-related topics.” A winning combination that she hopes will help all employees at Deutsche Bank feel seen and heard. Because, as she says, “We can all learn a lot from each other.”
Deutsche Bank is a good place for diverse talent because the bank itself is so diverse, Lisa concludes. “The organisational structure of the bank offers numerous opportunities: everyone can bring their true self to work and actively shape their individual career path at Deutsche Bank”
