Challenging and reducing stigma is one of the key aspects of our Well-being strategy
To achieve this, we need to openly talk about Well-being challenges at work. Only then will we be able to understand one another better, learn from each other and be able to provide support.
Psychological safety in the workplace and mental health are closely intertwined and it creates an environment where individuals feel comfortable and empowered to share their personal experiences, concerns and challenges related to mental health without fear of judgement. When our colleagues feel safe, they are more likely to seek help and engage in discussion about well-being.

719 Mental Health First Aiders (MHFA's) globally
To act as a first point of contact, our 719 Mental Health First Aiders can be found in a growing number of locations across the organization. To raise awareness and learn more about mental health, the bank also offers a practical eLearning module – which has been developed by employees for employees, including real life case studies. At our regular Well-being Forum, staff across the bank exchange self-care tips and advice on how to better take care of themselves and others.
Over 100,000 visits on the Well-being Hub each month
On our Deutsche Bank’s tailormade Well-being Hub, which brings together an array of existing resources, initiatives, and benefits from across the bank into one place, making it easier for employees to find information on where go for support, resources about personal development.
Our dedication to Well-being is also recognised externally
At the InsideOut Mental Health Awards, Deutsche Bank was named Financial Services Employer of the Year for its outstanding mental health and Well-being programme, which focuses on both recovery and prevention. The judges praised the bank's comprehensive commitment to mental health, noting its efforts to create a future-oriented work environment. They highlighted the bank's storytelling initiatives and its significant contributions to research via MQ, recommending Deutsche Bank as a model for others.
At the 'This Can Happen Awards', Ben Idle, COO Infrastructure, received the Most Inspiring Senior Leader award. He was recognised for his leadership in reducing the stigma around mental Well-being. Judges commended Ben as a role model for integrity and alignment between his words and actions. His personal experiences have positively influenced others, especially in an industry where hiding one's struggles is common. The judges were particularly moved by the impactful messages in his "Power of Thoughtfulness" video.
Deutsche Bank has been ranked 4th in "The Top 10 Ideal Employers for Well-being" in the latest eFinancialCareers "Ideal Employer Report for '23-'24" .
Over 7,500 responses were collected globally in a survey on the "Ideal Employers" in finance, making this an insightful report on candidate perceptions and employer brand. The report highlights a distinct overlap between companies that scored highly on Well-being and culture-related topics.
