You live in Germany with a granted refugee status? You are planning to study or are currently studying economics or IT here? Then have a closer look at our Banking Introductory Programme for Refugees.

In four short sessions you can learn all about Germany’s working environment. You can gain interesting insights into the financial industry in general and Deutsche Bank in particular. And, last but not least, benefit from the personal career advice and find out how to start a professional career in Germany – perhaps even at Deutsche Bank as intern or trainee.

What it’s all about

If you are a refugee with an interest or experience in economics or IT and want to work with a company with a stellar reputation, our Introductory Programme for Refugees is an opportunity you won’t want to miss. This is an amazing chance to start a stimulating career in the financial world with Deutsche Bank.
In a few short sessions with us, you’ll learn all about Germany’s working environment, gain insight into the exciting financial industry, and benefit from career advise and connections made during the programme. You’ll get to experience how Deutsche Bank is cultivating an inclusive and collaborative work environment that you can be a part of. This introduction to financial services will show you the many career opportunities available with us and all the possibilities for your career.

Session 3

A bank's portfolio October 1 – 2, 2020

    • Simulation of company world for practical application

Session 4

Starting a career in Germany October 8 – 9, 2020

  • Profile & personal brand
  • Elevator pitch
  • Getting started in the application process
  • Revision of curriculum vitae and interview simulation
  • Starting a career at Deutsche Bank as intern or trainee

The application process for the programme starts at the end of May and will be done completely online. Applications are possible until the end of July 2020.

Please note, that depending on the current situation and existing hygiene regulations, the training courses may not be held as face-to-face events but in the form of virtual class rooms.

How to apply

To ensure a smooth on-boarding process, all applicants must submit an application to Deutsche Bank through our online application system. So please make sure you complete our online application form fully and thoroughly.

This includes a cover letter, in which you explain why you are interested in our programme, what drives you and makes you unique. Your curriculum vitae should focus on your school and professional career, your studies and language skills.

We suggest uploading the papers in one single document.

We are looking for you if …

  • you live in Germany with a granted refugee status
  • you are currently studying economics or IT in Germany or you can prove having studied these subjects in your home country and that you want to proceed here
  • you have very good English language skills (at least B2). A good command of the German language would be an asset.

If these requirements are fulfilled, we would like to get to know you better in a telephone interview.

At the end of the interview process, you should ask what the next steps will be and when you can expect a response. It’s a good idea to take contact details and ask whether you can call or email if you haven’t received a decision within the agreed timeframe.
